Default About customizing (a bit noobish)

So how can a veteran GW player like me ask such a noobquestion? One reason; I don't dare to try!

The question: Got a PvP Elementalist I've been using for quite some time now and I got a weapon on him that's pretty sweet. My question is; if I delete him, make an RP character with the same name, will I be able to use that weapon? My guess is "of course you can't", but I would like to know from someone who tried...

So.. Anyone had the guts to ever try this?

Stupid of me to customize it huh? Yeah, I know... lol

Of course you can't. I tried it once with armor, a long time ago.

And No, it's not stupid to customize. If you plan on keeping and using that weapon on your character, why not get that 20% boost? If nothing else, you can always Expert salvage the mod(s) off it so it won't be a total loss.

Imagine it as if each character is assigned a number upon creation. Character #1607 won't be able to use an item customised for character #1606, even if they have the same name.

But why do you need to customise items for PvP characters anyway? Don't the created weapons (from the "j" command panel) come pre-customised?

Heh, that's his point, he likes the customized item his pvp character is using, and wants to transfer it to a pve character

Ahh. Thought he had a weapon from a PvE char which he wanted to customise on a PvP char. Gotcha.

Anything that's customized by another character (even if it's the same name) it can't be worn but any other character.
